Website Design Process

Our website design process is developed to keep the client completely involved at all times. At hour23design, we create custom WordPress websites. Unlike the others, templates and boilerplates are never used.

Discovery

During the discovery phase we like to get  a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of the goals, scope, and limitations. This helps us understand your end users, their needs, and requirements.

1. Scope Meeting

We define the scope of your project. This includes the number of pages and page templates for the site along with any other special functions required for the site. This could include API integration with third party services like Salesforce or Marketo.

2. Proposal

Once we have a clear understanding of the scope of the project we will send you a detailed proposal outlining exactly what you will receive should we work together. This will include the budget, timeline, number of pages, page templates, design revisions etc… Everything that will be included within the project will be outlined in the proposal.

3. Client Input

If the proposal works for you then you don’t have to sign or pay anything but we are happy to work with you just like you were our client. We will send you a detailed questionnaire about your website which will include information about your company, your customers along with other websites you like the look and feel of.

4. Mockup

After the Discovery call is completed we will have a mockup back to you within 4-5 business days.

5. Review

If you like the mockup and want to move forward we will do so at the terms outlined in our proposal. If not, there are no hard feelings and no other obligations.

1. Site Map

We will work with you to structure the content architecture of the site which is commonly referred to as the sitemap. We will first identify who the major visitor types are and make sure that all content is intuitively available for all visitor user types. We will also dive into your current Analytics data to see how current visitors are interacting with your content.

2. Content

It is the client’s responsibility to actually provide us with the text content. If this is something you need help with we can refer you to some highly trusted writers who can help you with your content writing needs.

3. Images

There are a few options when it comes to imagery. If you have existing images for us to work with, we are happy to use them. Or we can help source and curate imagery for your approval. If we use stock imagery we can purchase the images on your behalf and then bill you back for them on the final invoice. (for the Free Mockup Offer we use watermarked placeholder imagery which is free)
