Things to Expect during a Logo Design Consultation

Initial Meeting and Discussion

This is a vital stage with any project that a designer may undertake for you. Throughout any process open communication is critical. The initial meeting will help ensure both the client and designer are clear of how to move things forward. We like to use this meeting to get to know the people behind the brand.

Time Frame

How long will the design take. How soon do you need it? There will have to be an agreement about time frames. The designer may allocate a set amount of time in general but it will depend on the number of concepts that are offered or the amount you require. We are extremely flexible, but clients should understand that a logo turned around in two days will not be as detailed as a logo delivered in 10 days. Which leads on to the next factor.

Quantity

How many designs will you be getting for the cost? Or how many would you like to see. There maybe different packages that the designer offers so make sure you know what to expect and they are clear of your expectations. We offer all iterations at the same cost.

Feedback & Alterations

Once the first concepts have been produced an explanation of the designs will be presented to you and your feedback will be required. Changes may need to be made. You should be listened to and come to mutual understanding of the next steps in the design process. As long as we keep within your timeframe, we can provide as many iterations as you need.

Revisions

How many revisions will you get with your chosen design before the final concept is produced. This should be specified by the designer, however the price would naturally increase if more than what has been agreed to is required as this will affect the overall time frame to get the completed design. Ultimately, we want to make you happy. We will revise and revise until you are satisfied.

File Formats

Once you have the finished design it should be supplied in various file formats. These should include, (.ai, .jpeg, .png, .eps, .svg) and any others that maybe relevant to what you may need the designs for. We provide all formats at hour23design.

Colors

You will need to know the colors that have been used in your design. Having the color palette is vital. This is needed because you will want them to be consistent when used with other branded elements of your business. Make sure you have this information.

At hour23design, we understand that CMYK and RGB can display differently on other mediums. We can provide your design in both color profiles.

Fonts

Certain fonts may have been used in the creation of your logo. If not supplied make sure you ask what has been used as the fonts can be used across other printed and web material, again keeping your brands identity as consistent as possible. At hour23design, we have licenses for millions of fonts. If you can imagine it, we can provide it.

Brand Development

A natural progression of a logo design is putting in place BRANDING GUIDELINES. This will help your visual identity be applied across all digital and printed media. The designer should be able to offer this once the logo is complete or to encompass this as part of a package.

Cost

And last but not least, if they have a package for you to choose or need specifics before you get a quote make sure you know the price. A deposit should be required before beginning the process.

At hour23design, we have a flat rate cost for logo design. Contact us today to begin your branding journey.

I hope these points have helped if you are looking for an agency or designer to produce a logo design for your business. Please get in touch with us if you need these services or require branding, a website or other cool stuff to promote your brand.
